Enjoy two days of family fun this weekend (April 7-8) at the 30th annual Houston Children’s Festival downtown, benefitting Child Advocates, Inc. Featuring games, circus acts, music, celebrity character meet-and-greets, and rides, the festival is sure to have something for everyone to enjoy.

What is the Houston Children’s Festival?

The Houston Children’s Festival aims to educate the public on child abuse, its prevention, and the goals and purpose of Child Advocates. From small beginnings with fewer than 5,000 people in attendance its first year, the festival is now the largest children’s festival in the U.S., raising over $5.5 million for its cause.

Celebrity Character Meet-and-Greets

Headlining the celebrity entertainment this year is Anthony Gonzalez, the voice of Miguel, the animated character from the Disney/Pixar film “Coco”. Anthony will be performing on stage and signing autographs all weekend, so don’t miss out! Also on stage at the festival will be Paw Patrol characters Chase and Marshall, as well as Curious George and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Breakfast with the Stars

Mayor Sylvester Turner will host this brand-new addition to the Houston Children’s Festival at 9 a.m. on Saturday at City Hall. Each ticket includes a McDonald’s breakfast and photo opportunities with celebrity characters, including Ronald McDonald’s friends Grimace and the Hamburglar. With dozens of food vendors on site, the food selections include more than the typical festival fare of funnel cakes and corn dogs. Pork chop sandwiches, crawfish etouffee, and chicken katsu are among the options at the festival.
